Pachermo Peak Expedition

Journey to Panchermo’s High Altitudes

5 Reviews

Trip Overview

Pachermo Peak, an enchanting snow-capped summit, earned its place in mountaineering history with its inaugural ascent back in 1955. Situated to the south of Tashi Lapcha, it boasts a distinctive north-by-northwest ridge rising from the glacier that spans the Tashi Lapcha pass. This ridge presents a formidable yet captivating challenge, characterized by a uniform slope interspersed with crevasses and seracs. These icy formations punctuate the rocky lower buttresses above the Drolambau Glaciers in the western expanse.

The Rolwaling valley serves as the primary gateway to Pachermo Peak. However, during the 1980s, this route faced closures due to potential hazards posed to porters crossing the Tashi Lapcha pass. As a result, the access was limited. Another viable route, albeit less traveled, navigates through the Khumbu side, originating from Namche Bazaar and Thame.

The trek across Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass embodies a mesmerizing odyssey that encapsulates the unparalleled beauty of both the remote Rolwaling valley and the famed Khumbu region of Nepal. This exhilarating journey provides an opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas while navigating the challenges posed by crossing the high-altitude Tashi Lapcha pass, towering at 5755 meters above sea level.

This trek presents an enticing blend of the serene trails of the secluded Rolwaling region and the bustling pathways of the Khumbu territory. With its steep climbs, demanding ascents, and rock climbing segments, the Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass Trek promises an adrenaline-filled adventure, requiring patience, skill, and a thirst for exploration amidst the grandeur of the Himalayas.
