The Taktok Brothers offer an exhilarating and challenging Mt Everest Expedition via the North Face, a rewarding adventure leading to the Top of the World situated in Tibet. While highly rewarding, this climb demands technical skills due to its challenging nature. The Northside ascent presents fewer risks of icefall and avalanches compared to the Southside, resulting in fewer climbers due to Chinese Government permits.
In 1960, Qu Yin Hai, Wang Fu Zhou, and Nawang Gombu made history by being the first to summit Mt Everest from the Northside. Despite previous attempts, they were the trailblazers to achieve this monumental feat.
Contrary to the trek to the base camp via the South ridge, our expedition drives directly to the base camp at 5200 m on the Northside. Adequate time is allocated for acclimatization before the ascent, exploring Kerung and Tingri to immerse in Tibetan culture and traditions.
The ideal season for this expedition spans from March to May when weather conditions are favorable—calm winds, sunny days, and mild temperatures—making the journey thrilling and spectacular.
Although strenuous, the Everest Expedition involves risks that can be mitigated with proper preparation and training. The Taktok Brothers’ team ensures each climber comprehensively understands expedition elements by thorough briefings and familiarization with essential equipment like crampons, ice axes, bottled oxygen, fixed lines, and more.
Here are some essential tips to consider:
