Trip Overview

Embark on an exhilarating adventure with Taktok Brothers to conquer Mera Peak, standing tall at 6,476m above sea level in the Mahalangur region of the Himalayas, to the south of Mount Everest. As the highest trekking peak in Nepal, Mera Peak offers a remarkable experience categorized as a trekking peak, making it immensely popular among adventurers.

The summit provides breathtaking panoramic views of renowned 8000m peaks, including Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyo, Kanchenjunga, and many others. The ideal seasons for this trek are spring and autumn when the weather conditions are favorable, creating the perfect setting for a memorable journey.

Notably, on May 20, 1953, J.O.M Roberts, a distinguished Himalayan explorer, achieved the summit of Mera Peak, marking a significant feat. The standard route to the top offers multiple options, each requiring a certain level of technical skill. The northern route is more suitable for trekkers with limited experience, while the western and southern-faced ascents pose a greater challenge, catering to the expertise of seasoned climbers.

The typical journey to Mera Peak unfolds through Zwatra La pass, positioned at an elevation of 4,610m. This route treats trekkers to the enchanting sights of ancient villages, each rich in traditions and cultures. The longer duration of this route allows trekkers to immerse themselves in the surroundings and become well-acquainted with the path.

Mera Peak Trekking is an optimal choice for those with moderate mountaineering experience. While the elevation presents a challenge for a trekking peak, basic technical mountaineering skills empower trekkers to overcome high and challenging passes along the route. The ascent to the pinnacle of Mera Peak promises genuine mountaineering experiences, making it a journey to remember. Join Taktok Brothers for an unforgettable adventure!
